JEE Main Syllabus

While the JEE Main syllabus is mainly mapped according to the NCERT textbooks, NTA prescribes a separate JEE syllabus. It comprises topics covered in Classes 11 and 12, including subjects such as Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.

The syllabus for JEE Main 2024 looks to be the same as the previous years. There is no reduction.

The questions in the JEE Main exam are easy but require a lot of smart work, practice and adequate preparation. One of the significant challenges generally faced by students is the time constraint. To overcome this, students need to develop adept problem-solving skills as well as time management skills to ensure the successful completion of the examination. Moreover, before starting their preparations, students should acquire an in-depth and clear understanding of each and every topic covered in the syllabus of JEE Main.

Therefore, candidates should read the syllabus at least once before studying. This exercise will help them gain insight into all the important chapters or topics on which they should focus on. Additionally, they can formulate a proper study plan accordingly.

Moreover, to cater to the decision of various Boards across the country about the reduction in the syllabus, the NTA has determined to provide a choice in one Section of each Subject of Paper 1 and Part I of Paper 2A and 2B. However, the total number of questions to be attempted will remain the same (Physics -25, Chemistry – 25, and Mathematics – 25), wherever applicable.

Here is the subject-wise breakdown of important chapters for JEE Main 2024. Students need to pay proper attention to these chapters to ace the examination.
